Brand new Monster blinks green continously and fan doesn't run - 12.19.2010, 04:39 PM

Hi,
I tried my brand new Mamba Monster today.
Got it a few days ago, soldered battery connectors to it yesterday and wanted to try it for it's first time today.
But it doesn't seem to work, as soon as I switch it on it starts to blink green.
The fan won't start which it does on my other Monster (and both MMP).
No beep sounds either.
And I can't get it to calibrate.
I can connect it to my PC with the castle link, I can change settings and I can update the software.

I use it in combination with a Spektrum SR3100, but the receiver/transmitter settings used, are the same settings that work with my other SR3100/Monster and both SR3250/MMP combos.
Batteries are 2S LiPo, Motor is CC1512 1800kV.

Do I have to send it in or is there a specific software version I should try first or is there a detail I just overlooked?

You may have to "force" a software install, I'm not sure how to do it, but you can call Castle and talk to tech support Monday... or maybe one of the guys who has done it will see this thread and chime in sooner :-)

Have you tried one of your other MMM's in it's place? You might be dealing with some motor/connector problem too. I believe just a MMM plugged into a motor and battery should at least "ring" the motor on power up.

If I could only draw what I see in my head, then afford to build it, and finaly get to play with it...

If you are not calibrating and have no throttle input then:

Flashing Green OR Red = Speed control has not been calibrated and is not armed; or throttle sub-trim is not at 0.

If you are applying throttle or reverse WHEN calibrating:

Flashing Green OR Red while beeping = indicates speed control is looking for full throttle (green) or full throttle (red). If it continues for more than ~ 8 seconds, indicates speed control is seeing partial throttle (green) or reverse (red), increase endpoints on transmitter so speed control sees full throttle/reverse.
take a look at your transmitter settings, and make sure the rx lead is plugged in correctly/ fully & not damaged.

@Neill: I read the LED code descriptions allready.
But throttle and brake are both at 100% and as said, all the other settings are the same as in my g-maxx which runs fine with that Transmitter/Receiver/ESC combination.
And I thought the fan should run when the ESC turned on no matter what?

@DrKnow: Calling customer service in the US from over seas is to expensive for my taste. I'll just wait, it's not unlikely that some castle rep might show up here.
I'll see if I can find sth on that "forced SW install" though, thank's.

Forgot to mention: Receiver get's enough juice to run and steering servo reacts to steering input. No aditional powersource but the MMM-BEC is used.
