Goodluck! In all seriousness this topic just came up a few days ago. Don't remember the member but they wanted a good servo for $40. For that price point you pretty much need to take your chances with the HK stuff. To get a good servo brand new the cheapest you'll find is gonna be about $80, you may be able to find a used Hitec 5955TG or 7955TG for about $60. For a single servo in a Maxx or any other MT you should be looking for something with at least 250oz/inch torque. I just got a Savage Flux myself and I'm sticking a Hitec 7955TG in it in the next couple days, 333oz tourque and I think the speed is like .16 or something like that

will it work or will it work well? It will work but is less powerful than the combined stock dual servos.

Do you really want to downgrade and lose 10% of your steering power? The E-Maxx setup is weak with the smaller tires that where on the original E-Maxx, the brushless Maxx has bigger tires so I'm sure it has a harder time throwing those tires from side to side, I sure wouldn't want to give up 10% of what it has to begin with

I like the hitec servos myself.
They are not cheap though unless get a used one.
Really helps the truck handle better.

Peace!

With servos like anything else you get what you pay for, I'd save some more money to get a high qaulity Dig MG High Torque jobber like a JR or Hitec. But if your absolute on getting something cheap heres a option.

You can alwasy pick up something on Ebay cheap but your guess is as good as mine on what youll actually receive ?

Personally, I've had really good luck with the Ace DS1015 servos: http://www.acehobby.com/ace/digital_srv.htm

They have it listed at ~$120 but you can get them for under 100 pretty much anywhere...
