Ok so i stole my roomates e-revo and i was woundering what would be a good set up for an e-revo to race with. i have done a few things to it and he had already if i could figure out how to add pics i would but i put on RPM true track rear arms and a slipstream body the motor is the original brushless motor and ESC that came with the car, also the GTR shocks with variable dampining is there anything else you would need for racing
these are the pics of when i found it i put it all back together now (i think) and i want to race but should i go with the plastic chassis like everyone else out there has?

The Gorillamax is the best and most sought after revo chassis IMO.
For racing I would add sway bars and consider adding a centre diff using mikes mount. It will lower you COG alot and will make it perform like a race truggy. For this reason though your track may not let you run in MT class.
Worth checking - If the say no as if you can run a spool / locked cdntre diff.
so if i have a front and rear diff is the center diff that helpful?
i also looked up the gorrillamax chassis and i think your rigth it is suppose to be one of the best but if is so good how come on one has it. and i think i am going to add techno front sway bars and traxxzas rear sway bars.
Has anyone else noticed that the poeple at the track are very helpful untill they find out you want to race.
Not normally most ppl are just helpful until the point you are no 1/2.
The gorillamax chassis is just rare and was expensive. They are no longer made and a but if a collectors item. It would probably sell for 200 on it's own.
Cd helps alot. Basically turns a mt into a truggy.
i am guessing that the truggies are better on the track so gaining there handling is good there is alot of carbon fiber on here but i really don't care about selling this later i just want to beat them now. is the MMM motor and ESC combo that comes with it stock a good race motor is is there a better on i should think about getting
the res of the chassis is here but my camera died and i haven't got any new pics.
does the wing on the back help alot cause the car looks so much better with out it
there are a few jump on the track that i will try to race on
is there a wing mount that sits lower than this techno one to this one i would have to cut the whole back of the body off
so i was looking around and gearing the truck for 45 seems to be the way to go. Damm i have to figure all this out before next month cause thats when the races start and i haven't got the truck to work yet.
I have been trying to figure out this center diff set up but the universal mount is out of stock and i don't know what diff to use with it>
Can someone send me a link to a post that explains it better

ok so the more i look up the center diff the more i don't understand what it will help. The front and rear diffs help in cornering because it allows the outer tire to rotate more the help tracking in the corner but the front and rear shouldn't have that issue. then i was thinking the slipper diff but i already have a slipper clutch behind the spur gear.
i also was wondering if the g-maxx chassis was the same as a 2.5 revo or the 3.3 long chassis because i really think a VW bug body would look cute
oh and the shocks aren't the ones i thought they are intergy piggy back shocks
i i went with the jconcepts Rulux buggy wheels and i changed to alum diff cups and the traxxas alum push rods and tie rods ( if you rub them a lot they turn pink)
and with this chassis i find that there are parts from the revo, e-revoo, and E-maxx with is just making all this confusing.

yeah these stopped helping and just look at me and ask if i am joking about racing
one guy straight up laughed when he found out. I wonder if he will laugh when i beat him?
I have a gorillamaxx revo chassis, one of the first sold by Mike here (owner of the forum and store). I to love the chassis, it's nearly 6 years old now still going, wish GM hadn't stopped making them.
It's hard to race an MT these days, most times you have to race truggies and durability is an issue. Not that the revo is fragile, but compared to a modern truggy you will see what i mean
Work because i gotta, play because i wanna
People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise
so your saying move to a diffrent class to race i guess but they have a monster truck class here aNd alot of ppl still race the revo so untill they change i think i will stay but the traxxas slash looks pretty cool also
