Recommended mods to a bashing e-maxx

Hi all,

I'm very new to the hobby and have some money to invest. I bought a revo and was pretty unhappy - it just always seemed to have something wrong with it. I sold it and with part of the money bought myself a new mini-LST, I loved the ease with which it ran and how little problems it had.

That being said I'm considering an E-maxx to bash with my friends (who all own nitro vehicles). What sorts of parts/modifications should I be considering? Obviously wieght isn't as much a concern so is there a reason to use alluminum? Durability is definitely a factor to me because I dont have the technical savy (yet) to make repairs myself and will have to pester a friend to help me anytime a gear gets stripped.

Any advice pertaining to bashing with an e-maxx is greatly appreciated.

Depends on the level of power you'll be running in it. If not much more power than stock, get the RPM arms/shock towers, and some alloy bulkheads from here, and you won't break much.

sound advice, RPM knuckles are good too, because they carry a larger bearing which wont fall apart as quick.

I wouldn't replace it though if you haven't broke it. It works out better sometime than haven all the extra parts laying around. That would get you in a pretty good basher though.

Stay away from the RPM knuckles. The nylon wears out and the bearings start to wobble.

I used to break stock chassis until I got an aluminum front skid. Stay away from aluminum body posts. It snapped a couple of towers with them. RPM towers and posts work well on my non-BL maxx. I am also testing a bunch of 3.3 stuff. So far so good.
