Headway 38120 Lifepo4 Power

Anyone else try the larger scale Lifepo4 power?

I used this to power a 180 watt spider lamp earlier during a power outage, running an AC inverter, of course.

8 38120 10,000mah cells configured 4S2P

She puts out 20,000mah and so far, I'm impressed.

Each cell is 38mm X 120mm and are 10C cells. So each cell can give up 100amps continously.

They sell the case and the hardware too.

I didn't have the smaller wire jumpers, so I made those.

For a moment I was thinking I could use these to make a stubby maglite but the cells are thicker than D size nimh's

Do you still play around with led flashlights sikes?

I like the idea of using these cells to power an inverter but they're still expensive for that. I can get a marine battery to serve the same function and I have to imagine that an average marine battery has more than 10Ah and costs considerably less. Weight isn't an issue if it's sitting on the floor under my work bench!

I know there are several lithium ion cells patterned after the "D" size cell.

I've seen them with protection circuits too.

They are the 32600's or the 32650's. I'm thinking the ones I seen were 5000mah.

Sure I play around with led's, "the light of the future".

Two Led flashlights on hand so far that I'm impressed with.

A ssc p7 led light that runs on a single 18650, rated at 900 lumens

And a 1200 lumen light that uses 5 Q5 Cree Led's, rated at 1200 lumens.

LED lights are cool.

Cost is an issue for me too and what you said makes perfect sense.

Curiousity got the best of me on this one. I've been wanting to experiment with these for a long time and finally found a good deal. $139 for the pack.

The shelf life is one thing that is very appealing to me.

If these do what they claim, it's a 10 year battery.

SLA trolling motor batteries only last me about 2 years.

this cells have 2 very big problems for use in rc cars ............ crazy big dimensions/weight and very expensive .......... each cell 10.000 mah cost about 40 shipped :(

Yes, these are big. They might work well in 1/5 scale, but won't work in anything smaller.

I have since double sized the pack.

It is now 4S4P for a total of 40,000mah.

It will now run the trolling motor for an all day out of fishing and still have some charge left.
