motor opinions for ten t - 07.04.2012, 08:53 AM

I am thinking of getting a new motor esc combo for my Ten T and giving my daughter my Tekin 2650kv motor w/a MMP. So, for my Ten T I am looking at the RX8 ( love the sensored set ups....sorry castle ) w/another 2650 T8 motor or a Tekin SC4x 3400kv. I will only run my set up on 3s so the SC4x would work ( the 3400kv to be specific). I know nothing of the Sc4x motors so any input would be great. I don't want to get new 4s batts to make the 2650 motor I have now come alive..as I have a ton of 3s batts now....so what I am looking for is a little more pop out of my ten t on 3s.

Hope I was clear

4. MRX-3 ON ROAD CONVERSION 1512, MMM ON 6S
5. TEN T 2650 T8, MMP ON 3S

Lots of 3s packs? I'm thinking 2 in a series for 6s on a 1400kv buggy motor!

No experience with the SC4X motors but hear lots of good on them.

Holy crap...not looking for it to literally fly...lol. No 6s for me....no need for that. I am figuring like all the Tekin motors the SC4x line are quality built.

If anyone else has used these motors....let me know

I would def go for the T8 motor, the SC4x mills are 2 pole and the T8 will run cooler and have more torque.

I have a SCTE-10 that I "Monster Trucked" and run a 1515 1Y and 4s and it super sweet and efficent, the point being the T8 should run better and cooler than the SC4x IMO

I completely forgot about them being 2 pole. The T8 2650 goes pretty well on 3s...I suppose I could gear up a bit more. So far the 2650 I have in truck now has not broken 100 deg....so it runs super cool.

Ideally 4s would be the sweet spot for that motor in the truck...but as I said, I have 8 3S batts at the moment that I run in both mine and my daughters truck....so I really don't want to buy 4s. Although as I am staring at my pile of batts...3 of the 3s are really puffed...decisions,decisions

I know I should along with a RX8 esc. Unfortunately, my money tree died so waiting for it to re-bloom so my funds are a limited right now

Actually just played with the speed calc...on 3s with my current set up vs a 4s set up with the 2200kv T8....the 3s is a bit faster and spins less rpm.
