Mugen MBX-6 ECO - Speed Setup Help - 07.07.2012, 12:59 AM

Hello, I'm considering getting the Mugen MBX-6 Electric Roller Buggy, does anyone have a speed setup for this buggy? I want to do a 100mph setup.
Has anyone achieved that speed yet?

Thanks,

Thank you for your reply.

What numbers are you in need of? I did a mbx5 conversion to on-road and I have it set up to do 60 or so and I can run it around all day with no worries. My set up is cc2200kv mmm esc on 5s w/a20T pinion and stock spur which I don't recall at the moment. I know I could gear higher for faster speeds but I want to keep my motor in one piece. On a 6s set up the motor would spin at around 46K+ so it wont last long at that set up but good for short runs....the speed calc estimated around 80+mph

for pass 100mph with a 1/8tt you need A LOT of power ......... using "normal" 4p motors of 350-400gr +6s I think is impossible because I tried many times with all the possible gearings and motors (castle, tekin, leopard, xerun etc) ...........

with a mbx5 I arrived at 107mph using a leopard 4282 + 9s ...... next level will be 6s + 5692 motor of 880gr

100mph can be done on 6s for sure, and has been done many times - over gearing is actually quite common(taller gearing doesn't always yield higher speed due to increased load). That said, you will need high quality batteries - you may think you got a good deal on some cheap Lipos, but extreme performance requires high quality, high discharge batteries and lesser packs will quickly disprove themselves when pushed. In theory, a 28t pinion on 6s with a 2200Kv motor gets you there. Without the right batteries, it won't.
