Sorry to spam a little -- but I think you guys would want to know this...

Thank you!

Now a question:

The announcement mentions being able to use sensored motors with "purchase of an optional Sensor Harness from Castle Creations."

...and lists "X Series Sensor Harness" as part number 011-0108-00.

Does this mean the Monster X uses a non-standard sensor port and only a Castle X-series sensor harness can be used to connect to the sensor plug on a sensored motor?

The sensor harness is used to connect to a sensored motor that uses the JST sensor connector.

On the ESC itself, the sensors are part of the connector -- which is a standard 2mm header block.

There is not a "standard" sensor (JST style) on the main board. Just wasn't room for it once we added all those super-low RDS MOSFETs.

For the techie guys --

The Monster X uses a new MOSFET from Toshiba. Fast switching, ultra-low RDSon (770 microohms typical)

The Monster X also has integrated busbars to flow all the high current, and reduce PCB heating.

For current sensing, it uses a hall effect sensor with flux concentrator.

Thanks!

Patrick

Holy flux capacitor! Does it go 88mph?

Finally! A good option for a sensored ESC. Now my R/C lawnmower project can commence. Would be nice for some CC sensored motors though. How hard would it be to manufacture the end bell for existing 15xx motors to allow replacement with a sensored endbell?

On-the-fly tweaking of the Torque Control is very cool! Hope it gets an 8S brother soon :).

Yep. Definitely a killer feature in combination with on-the-fly adjustment via the transmitter.

Perfect for us "power-junkies", but would also be perfect for racers on slippery tracks. But they probably won't realize this :)

Now shipping - 07.21.2015, 01:43 PM

Started shipping on Friday.

We have a very limited number for the first shipments -- but distributor shipping starts at the end of this month.

Thanks!

Patrick,

Wow, I missed so much from my last posting here..., sensored setup is now great thing to have - Outstanding!

Cool, what would be the busbars dimensions?

If everything as good as it sounds, you should be able to ditch a fan as well.
