Brushless Project!! - 05.02.2006, 12:49 AM

Ok, I have decided to make the plunge into brushless! but i have to do in phases (gotta pay bills!) my phases, will be in $300 - $400 increments so after reading i believe i have come up with a shopping list of everything i need! (man i love the "Alice in Chains" listening to them right now) so here is my list. what i am wondering is which to put in what order, and if you have any different suggestions?

Warrior 9920 Car Controller $200
Feigao 540c 9XL motor $90
Kool Flight UBEC $37
FLM Front & Rear Hybrid Bulks $150
FLM Extended E-Maxx Chassis $90
Hot Bodies Hardened Differential and Pinion x2 $130
Strobe Slipper kit w/bearings $32
RC-Monster Hardened steel Idler pair $27

Hyperion EOS5i Charger $85
MaxAmps.com IB 4200 Sc custom Pack (8 cell pair) $160

Imexrc.com K-Rock Tires 2 pair $66

So there you go. what do you think?

aic- one of the best bands in rock history:018:

any way looks like you did your homework. i like all your choices except 1 thing, the tires. id stay away from the k-rocks 1 there heavy and 2 they dont grip very well. if you wont size then go moab if you wont a smaller tire thats good all around id go mashers. if you wont a racer tire id go crimefighter mts or bowtie mts.

Yeah, i am wanting bigger tires, my understanding from reading, is it changes your final drive ratio, and will give you higher top speed !!! speed is fun

with bigger tires you also have to gear down to compensate for the tires and in most cases smaller tires are faster because they are smaller and lighter allowing you to gear up to get the speed. Also make sure you you get the regular hb diffs http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...GY_DIFF&cat=47 and not the pro diffs. the pro diffs are truggy diffs and give you an ultra low gear ratio

bigger tires do not change your final drive ratio any, but does make you got faster. On smaller motors you have to compinsate gearing for bigger tires, but the 9xl you do not.
