Gorilla maxx Revo / EMaxx conversion - 08.05.2006, 02:10 AM

Hi!

I wanted to get your suggestions -- I have a brand new Revo and want to convert to it electric.

I see the gorillamaxx conversion kit, and Id like to use Lipo batteries for longer run times. Is there anyway I can just get the conversion kit without also having to buy an EMAxx or do I need the tranny and stuff from the emaxx?

My goal is not to race the thing, but to have a nice long running fast truck that I can run around the park or backyard. I have a Tmaxx and Jato 3.3 so I really want something quiet lol. I see Novak sells a 3020 setup but whats the best way to go? Again this wont be a truck for competition.

Also what batteries and charger setup would you suggest?
Thanks! I know its a lot to answer.

Best regards,
T

Ok, you don't have to get an E-Maxx just for the tranny. You can get the parts from here (just E-mail Mike, the owner) or one off Ebay. I think a brushless setup from here is also something to consider. After you drive one, you won't go back to brushed. Depending on your budget, the Feigao C XL motors are excellent. If you can afford it though, definately get a Lehner 1950. There the cream of the crop when it comes to BL motors. As far as ESC's go, definately the Quark 125. As for batteries, I would personally get some 3S2P 8000mah LiPo packs for a total of 6S or 22.2 volts with a E-Station 701 charger and Hyperion LBA10 balancer. That should be a great setup with a Feigao C 9XL or even a 10XL. Or if you can get it, the Lehner 1950/8. Welcome to the forums!
