Power Supply Question. Please help - 09.07.2006, 08:36 PM

Hey Guys,
I'm getting a deal on a Hyperion EOS5i Charger from someone local.

But I need to purchase a powersupply for the thing. I'd like to get one off of towers because I have some store credit. Can you help me pick one.

This is my first time with a charger that needs a power supply so i'm alittle lost.

Much appreciated. THANKS!

Actually, any 12v to 14v power supply will be fine as long as it is capable for about 10 amps.

This one is probably the cheapest at TowerHobby.

If you are in the mood for a little modding, you could use a computer supply. Check out this thread. It would be cheaper (about $40 give or take).

I have come to like the ones with a power switch on them. It makes it easier than to keep plugging and unplugging the power supply. I ran a hobbico one. It held up nicely.

Peace!

With the PC supply mod, you can just insert a switch between the green wire and the ground wire to turn it off and on. Many of these computer supplies already have a switch on the back though.

I use this one to connect my two chargers up to.

I've even heard of some people hooking up a third charger to it as well.
