the question - 11.12.2006, 06:19 PM

i was wondering if it is ok to go a little over the max voltage for a motor. I want to run 12 cells to a mamba max 4600 system but that puts is about 1000 rpms over the limit is this ok.

thanks

The sticker on the back of the 4600 motor does say 3s or 12 cells, but I too think it would run hot. If run intermittently or light duty, then I would say it's ok...

I'm running the 4600 on 4s Lipo :p. It does get hot for sure, but the power is fun :). My next battery for my Rustler and the 4600 will be a 3s for sure.

4s! :dft002: She must run hot at over 68,000 rpm! Must be insane power though.
