G4 question - 06.05.2009, 12:57 AM

I have a G2 E-maxx, that I am thinking of upgrading with the G4 chassis.

My question is, will it be interchangeable with the front and rear end of my current E-maxx, since it is based on the 3906 E-maxx? I know I will need new center cvd´s and the transmission.

Can I also still use my 1 servo set-up with my Hitech 5645MG and my Supermaxx servosaver?

And last, is it worth upgrading?

Here is how it looks now.

The front and rear ends will be fine to swap over.

Single steering servo will also work fine, you may just need to slightly shim the steering posts/bell crank differently as the G4 is intended to work with stock 3905 emaxx assembly- it'll line up fine though.

Is it worth upgrading though... I dunno, I think since the G2/3 design is now discontinued (end of an era) your older style Gorilla will suddenly gain in its value both to you and to other people should you decide to sell it in the future (think along the lines of a UE Lightning chassis perhaps). The G4 design may be a bit stronger than the G2, especially since the X-braces are no longer a weak point, but overall I think it depends what you do with the truck; if you mainly do speed runs or offroading without big jumps, theres nothing wrong with keeping it how it is now.

Thanks for the reply. Actually I am pretty satisfied with the E-maxx as it is now, but you know, it is allways interesting to build, modify, get new parts and so on.

Well I think I will wait and see, and hopefully I wont bend an x-brace..
