Brushless newb need a lot of help! - 05.13.2007, 05:56 PM

Ok here we go, I have tried nitro and its just way to fustrating for me to get the tuning down and just want to ditch nitro for brushless. I currently have an e-maxx and a revo 3.3 so I could convert either. Im looking to bash (most of the time) and maybe try racing with bashing being the most important (long run times and some good top end). My total budget is $700. I listed below what I want the build to include, but being a newb I only know a few things I need. Also I need this conversion to be as easy as possible since im not really up to date on all the technologies including lipo's, all I know is I want it :005:
1. Gorillamaxx chassis
2. Must be Lipo ready/compatable (i.e. connectors, etc)
3. Possibly come with some directions! I know, dont laugh too hard, im still learning.

With that being said im trying to find the best parts that fit my budget and has a fairly easy degree of use/installation so I can place an order asap so I can get this thing bashing real soon. The ideal situation for me is to tear down the revo or e-maxx, put the required parts on the gorilla maxx chassis, pop in the engine and esc, plug some lipo's in and start bashing. Any help and list of parts would be great! I understand how the engines work and the speed controls, but im still learning the gearing, lipo's and best configuration for my build. Sorry for the ramble, I look forward to all responses. Thx!

well g maxx i pretty much a racer only, its low to the ground, it breaks kinda simple, the g3r might be better but ppl are saying they still havent braced where the prob is... so idk

u can use the stock chassis, and pu a e maxx tranny in and u make ur own batt mounts, or u could even ask mike to help, or u can use mikes drop in mount and use the stock revo tranny, then u still need batt trays

lipos, depends on what run time ur lookin for, or wieght

and u could ask rc monster mike to build it for u, and make a mount, im shure he would do it and then send it all back to u, but u odnt learn anything that way

if u do gorillia, 700 budget idk will work for everything, with mikes a=mount and all u should be able tp tho

and welcome to the fourms

To convert the Emaxx to brushless only requires a few essential parts:-
steel idler gears
3.3 slider shafts or steel cvds
brushless system- for bashing an 8xl and mambamax on 12/14 cells would be ideal
Lipos arent good for bashing, too fragile- stick to good quality sub-c cells

After that its a case of upgrade if/when it breaks.

To convert the revo isnt too much more difficult- do a search for e-revo/ bl revo and you will find plenty of pics & info to show what is involved.
And welcome to the forum.
