Need help finding a car -
05.14.2007, 04:08 AM
A guy here wants me to build an onroad car. It has to resemble his BMW M3, with custom paint job and everything.
He wants an onroad car that can handle a bit of dirt :032: :032: Some kind of Rally car maybe. I was looking at the HPI Rally RS4, but apparently it is discontinued.
Any suggestions??
Thank you
Daf

Get Tamiya's TL01 chassis with a BMW M3 body. Check out with HPI, Tamiya and others for a M3 body.
The name is Alawi. You can call me Al.
Nice to meet you!

Will this TL01 handle a rally course? Or is it strictly carpet/tarmac?

No, it can be used for on road, off road tracks. It isn't a high end chassis, but good for beginners.
If you need something more sophisticated, a TC3 with it's Rally conversion suspension system would do, but I don't know if it's still available at LHSs. If you contact AE themselves, they'll surely help you.

Yeah, that's right. I believe it also has a BMW body with it. It'll cost a bit of mony if you'll make it electric, though.

I nearly did the BMW Inferno GT instead of my scale 1/8 buggy project they look real nice, but you have to pay for all the nitro stuff included:026: :020: :035: .
There is an Inferno GT only forum out there somwhere with a brushless section.

I would think a Losi XXX-S might be a good candidate because of the enclosed drivetrain.
