Why all you guys are into the BL side of the hobby. I've been lurking around here for a bit now, I've watch the vid's you guys have posted and every BL vid on google and youtube. I was alwys impressed but never quite got the buzz.
I recieved my mm5700 for my Rusty the other day from Mike, I charged up a gp3300 stick pack and a 7cell zapped, matched ib4200 pack and took off to the parking lot. It was instant perma grin from the minute I hit the throttle.
About 1/2 way through the GP pack my neighbor who has BL planes came out and was floored by the speed of the rusty. So I stopped, dropped in the 7 cell pack and WOW. this prompted him to grab his garmin. 44.2 mph on the GP's, 52.8mph on the 7 cell IB's then he grabbed a 3s2p lipo from one of his smaller planes and again... WOW 64.5 mph on the 3s lipo (too bad my wife won't let me get lipo).
Now I get it! The thrill, the rush, the unstoppable smile and the need to relearn how to drive my rusty!
Thanks everyone for making this site what it is, and Mike for hosting it for us. You all are responsible for me having a new addiction! (not a bad thing, i'm responsible about my addictions). Now I need to save up several hundred dollars to properly BL the my 18lb Tank Maxx!
On a side note, i thnk I'm going to half to go through withdrawl for a few day until my swami bar gets here. I flipped her end over end today at work when a car pulled out of nowhere on a 1000+ foot long stretch of straight road. I was about 1/2 way down the road at WOT and he just appered barley in front of the truck form between 2 buildings. I made an evasive manuver to not have my baby squished whic cause violent but cool as hell cartwhelling for a good 60 feet. needless to say the shiny rc-monter heat sink I installed with the motor took a harsh beeting. It is neither shiny or much of a heat sink anymore, Now she just looks like a skid plate, but it did a great job of protectng the 5700!
