While the subject is open, I am also looking for some body posts, either exceptionally long (6"+) chassis mounted ones or ones that will bolt to my shock towers, does anyone know of either? Preferably plastic.
same question. I know alu body posts are a big "no-no" for rc but on my maxx if i lowered them untill they touch the shock tower there would be not much sticking up to bend. so do you think it would work with out bending. BTW clod which towers are those.
A general search for 'body posts' yields plenty of long & short versions, but not many alloy ones. As for racing, I dont think anyone makes really tough ones- they either bend like weak metal tends to, or they are so stiff that they cause the shock towers to bend. Some Integy type body posts would work if you lowered them all the way down to prevent any chance of bending....
Plain and simply, aluminum bends; especially at the thickness of a body post. I'd go with something with a bit of flex. You could just order some delrin rod of an appropriate diameter and just cut it off to whatever length suits you.
