Lehner XL3100 or XL3600???? - 06.26.2007, 06:50 AM

A friend recently was going through boxes of spare rc parts and came across 2 Lehner motors an XL3100 and XL3600,hes willing part with one but not both.My question is which would best fit my needs.I have a 10.5 lb Emaxx with HPI Phaltline onroad tires(Maxx size)this will be a strickly topspeed ride.I run 4 cell lipo with a Mamba Max,would these motors be to much for the MM? How about with the 9920? Can either motor handle 6 lipo cells? I currently run 40-41 with an 8XL,can I expect better topspeed? Thanks

Lehner XL 3100 If geared right you will have more top speed than your current set up but your ESC will not like that motor for it will heat up faster. If you want more reliable top speed , go with a 9XL-10XL and 5s -6s lipo.

Brushless Jammin Truggy on NEU 1515 2.5 D on Monster mamba max with maxamps 5000mah 6s Lipo
Gorillamaxx Revo CF version on Mamba maxx ESC with NEU 1515 1Y on Maxamps 4s 8000mah Lipo

I had a XL3100 and ran 50+ all day long on simply 12 old Sanyo 2400 cells. Only thing I didn't like is its really hard to get to stay cool with a 8lb E-Maxx, much less a 10.5lb Maxx...

What ESC did you use with your setup?I'm sure the Mamba wasn't around then and I suspect thermal-city with it.I'm leaning more towards the 9920 really.
