has anyone had any success with building a brushless new era savage? im becoming more and more interested in going bigger? maybe i have a complex??

anyone have an idea how the drive line holds up on the savage with these imex jumbo congs? even though I read the savage trans. is pretty solid im not so sure how it holds up with the additional 2 inch rolling diameter and the addition weight.

what size motor would you have to use to power this monster? surely a XL would be to small wouldn't it?

I thought of getting one and putting a Thunder tiger .70 in it. I'm not sure what motor would push it good, maybe neu 1515

How about a 2215/2Y or a larger 2230/1Y on 8s? Max rpm on that size is only 30k rpm, so you'd have to gear up. But 12,000w max handling should move that thing.

what kinda amperage drain to be expected with that size of motor? only MGM controller available for that many cells to correct?

Well, if you need say 5HP, that's 3725w. At 8s (29.6v), that's 125A. 5 electrical HP is gonna be very strong because of the torque (around 10 ft-lbs at the tires at a guess).

Puge ugly, but that's a matter of taste. Don't forget if you use the stock diffs, and these size of tires, and the setup needed to power up this bitch, you better start stocking up diffs!

Good old British Mini, stick a big old engine in there and the power to weight ratio will beat just about everything out there, except maybe an Airel Atom....
