I hate to say this, but I think UE is heading for Chapter 11. Robin Oury has not even attempted to make more stock in spite of high demand. Too bad, the end of an era.....???

why do you day that, the only really major thing that appears outta stock is the cvd's, and some suspension arms...everything else isn't to bad....

VBS system-out of stock for months
RacerX suspension-out of stock for almost a year
Thunder chassis-out of stock, no plans for new production, (from Sam at UE)
Lightning chassis-out of stock, no plans for new production, (from Sam at UE)
Widetrac knuckles-out of stock, no plans for new production, (from Sam at UE)
Super6 FOC conversion-out of stock, no plans for new production, (from Sam at UE)
Servo saver gen IV-out of stock for months
input gear kit-out of stock, no plans for new production, (from Sam at UE)

The only things he stocks regularly are things made by other companies like Ofna, hence the diff kits and supershocks. All these things sell for tons on eBay. If Robin doesn't change things or come up with new products, I don't see how UE can survive. I hope I am wrong, but I know a lot of people who don't build Supermaxxes anymore because they are worried about the availability of replacement parts. Also, the Maxx design is getting very dated so supporting new vehicles is essential.

some of the items you talked about, have been discontinued for some time, but like the racer X suspension, you can piece it together, by getting the upper & lower arms, for front, & knuckles, then do the same for the rear as well. That is what i had to do.

The maxx design is old, yes, but i do not think it is out of date. Aside from being one ofthe smaller MT, it is the only electric MT worth anything (sorry E-savage). Plus with the new emaxx traxxs has attempted to solve some of the short comings of the previous design, that was a bit long in the too. Stronger tranny, dual steering, better diffs and driveshafts, longer wheelbase, and numerous other mods and tweaks. It is kind of like what they did with the 3.3 tmaxx compared with the std maxx. Dig improvements all the way around. Traxxas must have the all time best selling vehicle here. The tmaxx is about 8 years old now?! That is a long time to run a model, and they still sell, mainly cause the price is good, and it is an easy to use truck, especially for beginners. I see Losi bringing out a selection of xxx brushless vehicles. Their novak brushless stuff was aimed at the stock class race side of the market. I had a brushless xxx-t and it was painfully slow, and could only handle 2s. It would be nice if they brought out an electric LST based truck, Maybe the Spaminator, or Spanumition!

I returned around $100 in parts to him that I did not need, all done according to their procedures I havent scene a credit on my card in over 2 months despite many emails (most of which havent been answered)

yes, UE has some of the, if not the worst customer service in RC, trust me...

My friends, think of UE as the Tamiya Avante. It was a super, dooper, sophisticated ahead of time buggy, and it was sold for very high prices, but it did not succeed in the long run. Today it's a marvel and only the luckiest would find them. The UE did succeed in the MT market for quite a while, but I guess Mr. Oury no longer has any interest in RC, and besides, we have a bunch of substitutions which are, IMHO, better over all than a pure UE truck which costs over $2000. A Mugen MBX-5T or the new Kyosho ST-RR truggies- being converted to brushless- will put UE to shame on the track. The only trump card that UE holds over the other big names is QUALITY. Mugen and Kyosho are triple A quality, but not as shiny as UE, I know.
Let's face it, dudes, everything has an end and UE seems like it's singing it's ending credit, though I still hope I'm wrong.

Just forget about it for the time being and pick up a highend truggy worth $1500 RTR instead of wasting countless grands on a UE truck.

I think I should post mine for sale somewhere over here....

That's right. Most of us has more than just one type of RC vehicle to play with. Sure having one of the UE SuperMaxx trucks is a pretty cool thing to show off, but if you cannot find the parts you want for it, then play with something else for the time being. Place whatever orders you can with UE and check back with them from time to tome to see if what you want is in stock. Both Sam and Robin have said if there was something that I wanted t purchase, to just email them and they would try to come up with the parts for me.

It sounds like they are trying to keep from stocking up too much stuff, which equates to having money lying around on the shelf. If you want something them ask them for it. There are however some things that they just do not plan to make available again, like the "Lightning Chassis". From what Sam says he doubts that they will get anymore of them.

Oh well....

The only UE parts I would have liked to own were the setback rear a-arms, they would have been perfect for my Gmaxx. A set came up on feebay a while back, but they sold for about $50 more than a new set costs; ouch. Why doesnt anyone else make setback arms, its such a brilliant concept and way better than a simple chassis extension (shifts CoG further forward to prevent wheelies)?....
