gearing tip for 8xl ? - 09.28.2007, 08:25 AM

Hi !

I need a tip on what pinion to buy for a 8xl feigao motor used in a inferno 7.5 sports buggy with stocj spur and 4s lipo ? I'd like a topspeed of 40mph if possible :)
I'd like to use a bk warrior o mgm esc but witch one ? for maximum 300 $ o and how big lipopacks do i need for 20-30min runtime on a track ?

I emailed Mike when I was looking to buy a pinion for my Ofna MBX buggy conversion. I am running a 8XL on 14 cells and suggested starting with either a 14 or 15 tooth pinion. I went with the 15 and it does indeed move out, might actually be alittle too quick but that will change with where ever you are driving the rig.

I have no experience with either of those controllers so I can't help you there.

20 to 30 minutes runtime is quite long, you may need something up around 8000 MaH to pull those times off. Just make sure that you have a charger that will put out enough amperage so that it doesn't take several hours to charge one pack. I believe you should stick around 1C for Lipo charging which on an 8000 pack is 8A.
