pro-line Velocity rims with bandlands - 10.26.2007, 11:10 PM

I got the Velocity pro-line rims and I noticed that on the inside (or back side) of the rim there are 2 options were you can glue the tires. If you use the inner part the tire is more narrow and the outer will make the tire wider.

I plan to run on a track with gravel that is not too had packed, so it is loose. Then, I may also run in sand.

I have the pro-line bandlands. I have not used them yet, but I like the tire, can't wait to try them out.

What would you recommend, and what are the pros and cons with the inner vs the outer?

Ideally we will race around the track, not official but for fun.

Thanks!

Unless I have not been in the know... I am pretty sure there is only one way to glue the tire.

Using the inner mounting option will reduce the width of the tire which comes into contact with the ground. This will help to reduce traction roll and will make the overall tire "stiffer."

If you are going to be running on really loose terrain, I'd mount the tires on the outer rings. Just keep in mind that the Badlands aren't particularly meant for racing and they balloon like crazy. I'd try to get a set of the GRP orange foams to minimize this.

Thanks, I ended up glueing them on the outer rim. I did get the GRP orange foams but figured I would try the pro-line foam first, just to see.
