Building a Emaxx with BL -
07.11.2005, 05:36 PM
Hi!
I'm new to these forums and i saw that there are many BL people here so i thought i would ask a question.
I have a revo now(nitro powered) and i think its nice to have a BL emaxx or even a BL revo too.
So i started to make up costs for the hole thing and im wondering whats gonna be cheaper, a emaxx or a revo?
i think the emaxx needs some driveline upgrades to handle the power, but im not sure what to get so help!!! if the emaxx ends out cheaper, could you guys list what i really need?
also, i think i will be using a 9L/9920 setup(i can get a Feigao 9L cheap from a guy here on the boards) but the controller cost is really whats bugging me! its too expensive since im only 13 years and it would take some time to make the money.
BTW, does anyone have a cheap 9920 or 9918 controller for sale? make offers!
Thanks in advance
Max

if you dont have tools available to use i would go with an e-maxx. an emaxx would need cvds, steel idlers for sure.

LOL, pretty disturbing avatar! =P
well, a emaxx tranny would be no problemas to fit in the revo, it just the battery trays(maybe Dafni will help me out there, i like his design!)
Picco .26 powered Revo. Woohoo! will get converted to BL power!

Hi fellow european:) It will be hard to find a used BK controller (maybe because the people like to keep them). 200 bucks for the 99amp Warrior isn't too much. Save up, it's woth it. You'll get a decent controller.
For an E over a Revo conversion .... depends. At the moment, a Revo would still involve some machining and work on your part, whereas an E is ready to go. A rtr E-Maxx has a nice price, IMO. Check Mikes store. It's amazing, I'm thinking of getting a few and selling them here.
You can upgrade the driveline as stuff breaks, step by step. If you're not too trigger-happy, it should survive a while.
This forum here is certainly a helpful place when it will come to upgrading your Maxx. But also we would love to see another Revo conversion;)
Edit: Glad you like my truck. I love to get people inspired to tinker with stuffs.
Squee, please use the edit button.

200 is a bit much i think but i dont know much(its just the fact that it will take long to save up!)
if i get a emaxx tranny and i new revo chassis(dont wanna mess my up cuz im still using my nitro) what else do i need? some metal gears in the tranny?
BTW, Dafni, does it take much modding to make you're battery holder to fit? also, can you post instucions on how to make one, or could i buy one for you?

As it looks at the moment, I can probably hook you up with a deal in the near future. Talk to you later about that.
Making your own stuff would be fairly easy, too. (I guess you have seen the pics in my thread)

You can also get an complete emaxx transmission with the g-maxx 1speed conversion from Mike, and all you need is his steel idler to make it bullet proof..
@ squee, is that guy on any kind of drugs on your avatar? Or am i offending a relative? He is quite active for his weight..

that guy is maybe training away all his weight, but...it is exaclty as fast as he was from the beginning:C:
im looking at that 1 speed transmission but then i wont be as fast, right? it would be nice to shift manually(never done that before)'
laso, Dafni PMed me and said that twinforce battery trays will work nice on the revo so does anyone have a picture on it or maybe a how-to to get it to work?

Guys, this boy is just happy, no worries. Maybe someone bought him a pizza. :L:
2evo, you can see the Twinforce trays here: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXGGD2&P=7
The single Speed tranny is as fast as the 2nd gear on the 2 speed version;) Speed is a matter of gearing, anyway.

Yepp, with BL you don't need this first gear.
Mounting the TF trays should be easy, but will most probably require some mods to the chassis-plate.
