MGM 8012 and Feiago 8s? - 07.13.2005, 07:10 PM

I have a traxxas rustler and I have the 8s. I am looking to get a 8012. Will this controller handle this motor? Does it have bec? Will this be a good setup?

That controller is fine for the 8s. The MGM controllers have excellent internal BEC, and you will get very little cogging if any. Very good setup for 6-9 cells.

Where do I start with gearing? I am looking for good speeds but I'd prefer for the unit to stay cool.

What gears do you have already? I am thinking that 18/84(7) might be a good place to start, and then you can go up or down on the pinion from there according to how hot the motor gets.
