Ubec ? -
07.17.2005, 12:40 AM
I'm thinking about getting a ubec and want to know something. Do you have to solder the ubec to the speedo wires or does it use a plug?. I would'nt want to void the warrenty by cutting the plug off the speedo. Thanks HIPPIE

No worries about warranties, Hippie. The Warrior will come without plugs anyway. The UBEC will have no plug on the input side (I just wire those leads on the ESC plug) and a handy plug on the output, which you plug into the RX.

Yes, just solder the plugs to the plugs/wires of the esc and cover it up with heatshrink..
It won't affect the warranty.

I personally would use an UBEC when you go above 12 cells. those steering servo's can take some power..

I would also go for an UBEC. They weight almost next to nothing.

I took the dafni-vo to the state race this weekend & people were blown away. I showed it to bobby moore he is sponserd by traxxas & won the rc-proseries finials in small block monster truck with a revo. He said it was awsome & asked his freind to take pics so he could post them on the traxxas site.
