an upgrade is wiring.... and a new lipo pack..... id presonally return the 7xl or sell it and get a 9xl. not quite as fast but better accel, lower temps, and better runtime.

For the last time, there is not need for a 9XL. 4S on a 7XL will run great, and cool if geared right. A 9XL on 4S isn't that fast, at all.
Stick with the 7XL and simply take the spring out of the clutch setup. One thing you might want to do though is get a RC-M heatsink/clamp to keep it from popping.

Yeah, the 9XL is lacking in the speed department, good for bashing or a small track though. I'm going to switch to a 8XL or Neu if I can get the money together.
I second the RC-M heatsink/clamp, good investment if you stay with feigao's.

Nemesis and Feigos are same motor? also,, I dont know anyone has this prob. but my motor hits the uppper left rear suspension arm when fully compressed. the motor is 75mm and tekno states that no more than 74 mm but it hits it more than 1mm.. about 5mm or so.. kinda sucks..
Im thinking of upgrading the batt. the thunder power or flight power which has 25C's but they dont fit in the batt. tray. Maxamps only has 20C but they do fit. I persoanlly dont like the tekno kit cuz they arent so versatile. I should get rid of the maxamps 15C batt. right? kinda waste cuz i never used them and they are new, just old tho..

Squee, I think the only reason why many people seem to think the 9XL and 4s are a good match is because they use the MM ESC, which is only good for 4s. Sure, a 7XL or 8XL would probably work better IF geared right, but most will keep the same aggressive gearing which will pull too much current for the little MM. The 9XL is probably more of a choice to help limit the current somewhat.
I agree though, proper gearing will make the 7XL work just as well as the 9XL.

You must have you mount set up in the low cg way if it's hitting the arm. I have mine setup normal with an RC-M heatsink clamp (adding another 4mm to the length) and I don't hit the arm. Just take it off ad flip it around.
As far as the battery, just pt a piece of foam in the tray to lift the battery above the sides, that's what I do because my 5000 pack is also too big, the velcro straps are very secure and will hold it in just fine.
If you're planning on getting rid of the battery, LMK, I'm interested, but confused on the last part because you say "I never used them and they are new, just old tho.. " So are they new or old?
Edit- I see that you are running the stock rear arms and I have the extended, buuuut... if you do what I said and flip the mount over (as described in the instructions) it should no longer hit the arm.

I know what your saying, I just don't think you should mask the problem by going with a slower motor. The 9XL on 4S isn't gonna be that impressive. If you wanna just keep it all cool, no need for a 9XL, the 8XL would be the better choice.

What gearing would you recomend on a E-Revo with Revo tranny and no slipper ?

Assuming 4S and 7XL, I would say 13/36 or 13/38. I'm running a 3S and 7XL with the 2 speed and it gets a little to warm with 16/36 (not 100% on the spur). Why no slipper though?

Its getting late here in Sweden , I was trying to say no clutch, since this was about the Tekno kit.
Thanks for the gearing suggestion, and yes 4S is what I use with tranny locked in second.

I would also get a 12 tooth pinion, just incase, since your running it locked in second.
