Feigao 540C 9L? -
11.13.2005, 01:42 PM
Has anybody got this motor yet? I might be getting a basically stock Emaxx to mess around with this winter and I will need a new motor for it. This looks like a perfect motor for my application, but what have you guys found? I'm not looking for huge power, good run times and as much or more power than a Novak HV-maxx system. I've got a MGM 12012 controller so I'm limited to 12 cells (not that I would use more any way). It looks like the old sytle 540 9L would work good as well, but of course I'd need a motor brace and all that for it, so it would be more expensive. Also any andvice on gearing? What size of pinion would you recommend with stock size tires?
Thanks.

well, mike's heatsink is also a motor brace!! The heatsink is worth the price alone!

true, but nothing beat's mike's quality in his products, and his servocie. But its all up to u! dont forget the 540c has a higher rpm arattings then regualr. SO that might help/hurt ur setup depending on ur car.

And the 9L is a good motor for a Maxx on 12 cells correct?

16 cells is pushing it though. I would say 14 cells max, but is okay for the occasional 16 cells.

I used to have a 9l on 14cells and it ran great. 16 would prob be too many.. trying not to get back into the trucks but looks like I'm back. LOL

I've heard that the "C" motors (well, at least the 380 ones) are a bit faster than the non finned ones.

Not past their 50,000 RPM limit, but for pushing the limits of their vehicles instead.
