true rc lipo question - 01.16.2008, 11:40 PM

I'm looking at purchasing some packs from true rc for my emaxx. I'm wondering how much of a difference the 8000MAH 120A cont will be over the 80A cont. It's quite the price difference. I'm planning on running 5S2P with a 10XL on a MM in an Emaxx3905.

You will be fine with the 80A continuous pack. I'm running a TrueRC 5000mah 10C pack (4S1P) with a 9XL motor and it has no problem powering it. You'll be good. Make sure you use a an external BEC when running 5S on the MM and disable it's internal one otherwise you'll fry it. Plus, some people have had bad results running the MM on 5S so you might consider running an 9XL or 8XL on 4S (still using the external BEC). Your batteries will still be good to hanlde it.

Also watch the sizes of the batts if you are to fit it into a standard E-Maxx. The 10C version is 50 mm wide IIRC.
