Was wondering if anyone knew of a decent voltmeter. I need it to be small enough to be mounted on the vehicle (old emaxx) and capable of reading up to 25v. And cheap too. It would be nice if it was backlit, but that is not a requirement. Not sure what one of these run on, seperate battery or thru a receiver port? I do not have an lvc on the bk9920 and it does not matter much, but it would be nice to see the pack voltage at a glance without taking the body off.

It would be measuring unloaded voltage though. Well it would be when you are looking at it at least. Wouldn't a sepearte LVC just be easier?

Ok, where would I get a lvc that can handle 5s. I would also like a voltmeter on the vehicle, just to see what it is doing.

I was once looking at voltmeters. Ebay had a few that were about the size of a quarter and read up to 99.9 volts (read in increments of .1v). It came out to be like 20 bucks with shipping. Seems kind of expensive to me, but then again I haven't really looked into them...

I also remember those, but cannot seem to find them anymore. Can you remember where you looked to find them, or what you looked for (keyword?)

There is one. If you look in his store you'll find various others including ones that are more accurate (like .01 or even .001 volts) as well as ones which measure as high as 500v. There are also ones of different color. (I think that one is green, there is red and blue as well).

Keep in mind that most voltmeters only sample at 1 or 2 hz, so your voltage won't be very accurate with respect to burst loads.

That is a good point, JRH. I will just use it to keep trak of the packsoverall rest voltage. I never run them down to 3v per cell anyways. And this setup does not draw enough to meat the cont ratings of the packs, they are 30c burst and never even get warm, even in my new emaxx with the hacker motor.

If you just want to see the voltage level at a given time, then one of those cheapie eBay thingies would be your best bet. And since you are just using it to glance at pack voltages, sampling is not all that important.
