lost 5 mph from switching esc - 09.15.2008, 10:52 AM

I decided to go ahead and set my new MM up to pair with my Medusa 36-60-2000for some runs.Added a cap, bec, fan.Geared the same I lost 5 mph from where it ran with the Quark 80.I tried different settings on the esc, changed punch, motor timing, ect and could get no better performance. The quark was setup for max performance. It's now running at 39mph ,was about 44,interesting though 39 is what the calculator says it should be,yet with the Quark it was always faster then the calculator said. The only thing that made me unhappy with the Quark is it could not disapate heat fast enough from the internals. It has some heat mods done, but I did not pull a heatsink from the bottom fets. After about 10-15 minutes of hard driving it would thermal, but only for a couple seconds. The MM is running cool, but so much slower. I'm gonna slap the quark in later and do more runs, maybe the Erevo is just a little more beat up now. Anyway I found this really interesting,
