New to Largescale brushless Need CRT X1 Pro Help - 11.22.2008, 02:48 PM

I got a crt pro x1 on a trade and want to convert it to brushless, i want to run a 6s 5000mah with an affordable esc thinking of mamba monster. wanting to know what motor i should get if i want 55mph as top speed. wonderin if i should go for the motor combo from castle and if so what size should i go, im gonna run the stock diffs to start off and play the rest by ear, what is a good affordable battery to use. i already ordered the crt conversion mounts for the crt and just need to know what would be good for 55 with minimum temp issues. any imput is much appreaciated and i will document my build here as well to get more tips along the way. i dont want to break the bank on this but am willing to spend what it takes to acheive my goal.

Go with the CC combo with the 2200kv motor. As for a decent battery, many have had success with the zippy lipos form hobycity.com. Mike is selling some good lipos in the rcm store, might be worth a look too.

Not sure on the gearing required to hit 55mph on 5s with that motor. The crt x1 has buggy ratio diffs and a 62t spur, IIRC. Probably something like a 15-16t pinion, but do not quote me on that. 55 mph is fast, hope you have a large bashing area!!!

yes im aware my 10th scale is 60+ on a mamba max 5700kv setup on 3s i wa thinking i would have to go with a 6 s system but if i can do it on 5s with no temp problems id live to save the weight so the 2200 combo should get me to 55 on 5s without temp problems?
thanks for the reply
Jeremy
