Unhappy MGM Black Box drama - 12.29.2008, 10:04 AM

Has anyone used the Black box from MGM with their controller. I ordered one from Mike and it doesn`t turn on and does not record data or transmit to my PC. The activation light does not come on at all. I have it all hooked up correctly, i tested all the leads for continuity and they are all fine. If i hook the USBCOMM directly to the ESC it will read fine.
Any suggestions would be great

Unless Im mistaken, the blackbox only works with certain MGM escs as an additional telemetery unti, rather than a stand alone unit like the Eagletree or watts up meter. I;d check the MGM website to see which series of esc it will actually work with.

If the blackbox is non-functional, it will need to be sent back to MGM for inspection and/or repair.

Given how tricky it is to get the esc to link to a pc sometimes with the programming cables, I wouldnt be suprized if the blackbox just needed connecting or setting up in a specifc manner...
