Some issues with brushless maiden run - 12.26.2005, 02:41 PM

Hi there,
Finally finished putting together a brushless e-maxx and took it out for a maiden test run and had a couple of issues questions.

1) how hot can the motor get? The motor controller wasn't warm at all, but the motor did get kinda hot, i.e. I cannot continuously touch it for more than around 5 seconds. Is that normal/OK?

2) The power connector to the motor controller keeps getting disconnected from the controller. It's connected via the 3.5mm connector. Should I just solder the connections directly?

Config:
E-maxx with
G-maxx chassis
Sypder 6 diffs
GA Bulks
RPM Arms
MGM ComPro 16016
7xl fiego motor
Strobe Slipper
16 tooth pionion
Proline 40 series bowties
proline shocks.

Have a nice day - Ewe Chye

The motor can get around 180 fharenheit or 100 degrees.

Soldering the motor wire's to the controller help's to get allot of heat and stress off the motor and controller. Friction(like loose connector's or bad solder joint) ~ heat, so that might be your problem.
