WHAT A DUMB ASS. That is how we end up seeing dead people on TV every day, because they do not think things through. or just do not have the capabilities to do so correctly. A good advertizment for the natural selection process for birth control. Plus that is not just a breeding issue. That was obviously a learned skill set taught by his well educated parents.

Do you know how many kids die every year doing stupid carp like this in a few feet of ice covered rivers and lakes? He could have slid under the ice down stream and froze to death trying to fight his way out. Watch it again and take a gander at the look on his face. That is not laghter on his face... If he had secum to the freezing water and died you would not be saying "oh it was just some fat kid jumping into icey water". He was lucky.

Yeah, funny and sad too. Dumb ass should have landed ass first. I bet he sliced himself up on that ice too. I feel ya Jerry, lots of kids do die doing stupid stuff. But that is the way off life. The kid that eats lead paint and play in traffic does not get to grow up and have kids of his own.

You know, fat people have feelings too.

Of course, I wouldn't be stupid enough to jump into a frozen body of water...

Hence that is why we all gather on forums. To voice our thoughts, and opinions on what we see in the world around us, and to share ideas that may help others. I can only assume that is why the video was posted here in the first place. I merely made a comment on what I thought of the video content and the kid being filmed. Sure it may be a little funny to some, but my point was more importantly directed to how sad that kid is and the risk that he took, and for what?

You on the other hand posted a comment directed at me, and my opinion instead of voicing your own opnion on the video. I was not asking you to comment on what you thought of my opinion. I could care less what you think, because I do not know you. And who voted you as the opinion police on RCM anyway? I have no idea why you thought it improtant to jump on me about this subject, because nothing I posted had anything to do with you. Are you the kid in the video? Or are you offended because you thought my comment was directed twoards you? Is this what you were looking for by trying to insult a fellow forum member on RCM?

Once again. - 01.06.2010, 08:24 AM

Once again watching that was kind of funny after the fact, but he could have broken his darnned neck. The worst part is that his family and friends joked him into it. OK OK I have to share something here. I grew up with a young man in the Glenside Projects in Reading Pa 1970's. He was my best friend for many years, and after I left to join the US Navy at the age of 18 he soon followed by joining the Marine Corp as we were both trying to escape that life. He became a hand to hand combat instructor at Paris Island during his first enlistment, and everyone was so proud of him for achieving such a feet so quickly. In his fourth year he returned to Glenside as a source of pride visiting with some of the younger kids to show them that they to could get out of that life if they really worked at it. During that visit he was up at the Autalony Dam recreation park one evening with some old friends who were smoking weed and doing drugs, and he fell into the trap of thinking that a little bit would not hurt him, because he was invincible now as a United States Marine. One of his other firends was playing with his basketball and it went over the side of the dam into the water. He looked thinking that it was only like 15' or 20' to the water so he would just jump in and retrieve it. So off he went to impress those friends with his steller ability. He hit a boulder a few inches under the water and broke his neck killing him instantly. He was just 23 years old. He lifted himself up from starvation and poverty, leaving a life behind that would have surely killed him or put him in jail for most of his life, just to die doing such a stupid stunt showing off to a few so called friends. Such a waste. He was destined for greatness and died for a basketball. Too many people see this as funny stuff, but it is truly sad that young people are killing themselves for our entertainment. Just my thoughts on the video.

since I completely agree with you about wasting a life and all the sad story behind it.. I have to say that almost all of injuries that happen from jumping into water are because of stupid show off by someone who doesn't know what he's doing. Which is bad, but definitely not anybody elses fault...
