whats this noise? --video-- - 02.18.2010, 05:40 PM

hey guys i figured before i pry open the tranny id throw up a quick vid to see if you all knew this noise

the pinion and spur look good.. pinion is a little sharp but other than that their mesh is ok and stuff. tires spin at the same time and stop at the same time so i dont think theres something binding them..

my next guess is the tranny..

this is an old rusty so i wouldnt be suprised but ya i just wanted to ask before i ripped it open

thanks for any help.

tiny rock stuck in a spur tooth? is the spur smooth throughout an entire rotation, or is there a rough spot?

At the start of the video it almost sounds like there's a tooth broken off inside the diff... You might want to just take it all apart and check everything.
