Holmes Cobalt Puller

Hey, Sorry for posting in the wrong place but I couldn't find a Brushed forum.

Exactly how powerful is this motor? Compared to say a Castle 1515?

And by power, I mean how much force it would take to stop the motor from running @ 6s.

I was thinking about the 6t with the Holmes Hobbies Torquemaster ESC.

You're gonna blow it up if you run 6s. The 6t is 2s MAX. I'd guess it's 3500-4000 kV.

Slightly longer than a standard 540 motor.

They are much stronger than a regular 540 motor because of the cobalt magnets. They are no where near as powerful as a 1515.

Going by the info nitro listed above the 6t should good for 300watts or so.

A 1515 should be good for 1000watts or more.

Let's guess the 14t is around 900kV. Thats ~20K rpm on 6s. You'll have a decent amount of torque from that setup.

But again, comparing it to a 1515 in power handling isn't really fair.

What are you putting this in anyways?

Probably a baja 5t with a 4wd conversion. Or a mini t.

lol, yeah would be fun to see the cr-01 on 6s. But I was just wondering what kind of power it would have at 6s, doubt I will try it cause I'm guessing the drivetrain would break.

Tamiya drivetrains are pretty stout, but I think that you would reach the limit with that setup!

haha yeah. :P I just want a more powerful setup than the stock anyhow. The stock setup stutters when trying to climb up stuff. Cobalt puller seems to be a very nice choice, 14t on 2-3s would probably be very very torquey and not be too fast.

Yep, that would be the ticket. Given the novak 13.5t and ss esc performance I would go back to a sensored electric setup if I did it again. Or maybe a sidewinder and an outrunner. The little axi 22 series motors are badass for 1.9 rigs. I could spin all 6 wheels on my 6x6 on carpet, never stalled.

Given the power of brushless motors, would 1515 series++ stall on 6s+, or break the drivetrain, even metal drivetrains? (If it was stuck or something.)

Well I can tell you that a 6s/1515 combo in a Rustler will simply snap an axle, wheel hex, diff gear, and/or drive pin if it gets stuck.

I'm not sure how that compares to the Tamiya stuff.
