Getting the itch to build something, but what?

I currently Have one rc running (T4) and its getting boring, I am thinking of building another but what? I have two options, possibly three, Two I already got most of the parts for, the other i need the truck, but they are cheap to get.

Idea 1. I have a Losi 8T to convert, It's from my year or so running in the darkside. My plan for it will be to use a 2250 lehner 10t (1184kv) a Quark 125 car and my outdated (for now) flightpower 20c and hyperion twenty 20c lipo's. I know it sounds overkill, but using this motor on 4-5s should be less stressful on the batteries than my Neu 1515/2.5d/1600kv and get good speed and runtime. I know the 8T can handle the power, people have played with 1717 castles and Mike himself has run a 2230 lehner on one. The only things i really need for this one is the motor mount and battery box.

Option 2.Rebuild my G2R revo, The only major problem with it is a broke Diff pinion (RC-Monster 1/8 diff conversion V.1) Yes, this is the second V.1 pinion I have broke. My plan is to either just get another pinion, last i talked to mike He still has a few, Or get the 8mm unground one and a matching bearing and be done. Third possibility, The V.1 was designed specifically for Hot bodies diffs, Was there any other diffs that fit with a 5mm pinion? Ofna Maybe? For tranny i'm torn between a E-revo with a fastlane adapter, or Mikes center diff conversion with possibly a slipperential. If i go center diff, it will also be 2250 powered. Tranny, Neu 1515/2.5d

Option 3. Get a CRT.5 and convert it, I would have to get the car itself but they bare cheap enough

I would have to make a battery box, my plan is to run a 5s 2500 25c flightpower lipo. with a 1200kv Lehner basic xl. Would also need a plastic 32 pitch gear from the SCRT.

This is my quandry, would like some input. I know most would say 8T, Due to size and wow factor. I like the CRT.5, due to size and ease of storage. Similar prices to do both these. The revo really needs the attention, but the most expensive to bring back

well, i vote for the 8T as my truggy, mbx5t, is by far my favorite in my stable of 6 rc's. I also have a crt.5 which actually is my daughters. I do not like the frailty of the arms in particular of that truck hence why she has it now. Even on a 2s set up she manages to do a fair amount of damage.....i keep a spare crt.5 just for parts for her.

The GR Revo is my second choice except I would do a true CD set up.

I'd do the 8T, I liked it alot more than the Revo. But if you decide on getting the revo up and running I'd install a center diff instead of the tranny. Btw, the only Ofna diffs I know of with a 5mm pinion are the LX series. But I doubt the ring gear and diff cup will fit in the RC-M conversion cases.

Like i said i know the 8T will handle it, I beat one all to H#!! running nitro. I raced an O.S. .21 v-spec against .30's and rarely lost.

I disagree with your opinion on the CRT.5, One i had in nitro was a tank, every bit as tough as the 8T, Actually made the 1/8 truggies nervous when i threatened to enter it. Oh! i was running a 5 port o.s .12 tr in it, insane little truck. It is possible converting to brushless might show some weaknesses

Like said earlier figured the 8T might get a few more votes. The reason for running the 2250 in this setup, it should run lower amps. This motor was designed for pushing big boats and possibly 1/5 scale cars, should barely know the 8T/Revo is even there at 4-5s lipo's.

When I mentioned the issues we were having with the front arms of my daughter's crt.5...that was the only issue. The drivetrain was plenty stout as were most all of the other components

I know what you meant, But i was hard on mine and it never broke. I was saying possibly the Brushless conversion might add too much weight and cause the breakage

Losi ten T has always appealed to me as it looks really stout and it is based on its big brother. I was considering one for my daughter and selling her crt.5, but, I have quite a few spares for her rig and did not want to start over w/a new rig and having to stock parts, etc...

I would also go wiith the 8T. My CRT.5 was a lot of fun but there was no comparison compared to my D8T.

I thought the CRT.5 was great but I could never keep it on all four wheels long enough.

I've found my crt.5 to be the weakest truck I've owned...I wasn't abusing it too hard either, running a mild brushless (3300Kv on 2S) on a track. I cringed every time I didn't hit a jump just perfect or every time it cart-wheeled.... Knuckles break almost constantly, broke some front A-arms, read hub carriers...
Still haven't given up on it though! I only hear good things about them. I must be doing something wrong with it...
