Prepuffed Maxamps Lipos - 09.29.2011, 07:04 PM

Hi Guys,

Here's a couple of interesting finds on Ebay.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Maxamps-14-8...item27bec3bd7e

This is one of their "New" True 150C Packs. It ONLY has 1 puffed cell.

Someone must have drawn more than 975 amps from this pack. I wonder if this customer realizes they can take advantage of the 3 year warranty?

Or maybe Maxamps was already hateful with them, blaming them for the pack failure, so they decided to sell it on Ebay instead?

Hmmmm...............

Oh wait. Here's another one!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Maxamps-7-4v...item27bebd61cd

This dedicated customer named himself "firedecals". He must be a quick one.

He says this pack is good and it does have the "good" price attached.

The shame of it is, it's pretty obvious that it's "prepuffed" too.

Get em here folks! Prepuffed Maxamps packs. They're prepuffed, so you don't have too.

Seems like the first one puffed whilst it was sat on the shelf- may have already been damaged ( buying and selling pre-owned lipos is a bit iffy at the best of times, especially MA packs... ). Second pack looks about ready to pop- who in their right mind would try to sell such a badly puffed/ worn pack?

The second pack looks brand new though. No scratches or anything!

How can you say that's worn?

Oops, I was looking at a different auction sorry- some people will try to sell some seriously beaten up parts and call them 'lightly used' though.

That puffed lipo must be the new 'vapour' packs from MA- make your truck powered by lithium vapour batteries which are 90% lighter than solid lithium cells....

Someone should probably PM and tell him to not put that thing in the mail. So when they ask him if there is anything dangerous, hazardous etc etc in the box is he going to answer, only a swollen lipo thats ready to explode into a fireball.

Are the flame stickers fire retardant?

I wonder if these packs are user error and puffmax didn`t honor the warranty.

gens ace and hyperion are both very good brands. hyperion is my favorite high-end lipo brand and gens ace is my favorite low-mid end lipo brand. my favorite low-end brand is still turnigy though. all 3 of those brands are the best bang for their buck when it comes to different grade lipos in my opinion.

maxamps costs about 5x more than turnigy, even though turnigys are much better than maxamps. i have a couple maxamps packs that are about equal punch as my OLD ni-mh packs. if the lvc is set at 3.4v, they start hitting lvc as soon as i hit 3/4 throttle.

They say a good mechanic only needs 2 tools - WD40 & Duct tape. If it moves, and its not supposed to, duct tape. If it doesn't move, and its supposed to, WD40.
