current draw on 1512/3D? - 06.26.2007, 07:40 PM

Hey, some of you know I just bought a 1512/3D motor from Mike (although haven't received it yet), and I was going to run 7s2p A123 pack for 6s lipo equivalent.

The truck will weight in at almost 10.5 lbs with this pack, which is kinda too heavy for my liking. So I was thinking if the 1512/3D doesn't draw more than 80 amps geared for <40mph, I could use a single 7s pack, or 1p. The truck will weight 9.3 lbs with a single 7s pack.

Do you guys think it's worth it going a single pack? A 7s2p has 100Wh of usable energy on tap, more than a 4s8000mah lipo pack. (~90Wh new)
