Best racing batteries for a revo? - 06.04.2008, 10:43 PM

I just converted my revo platinum to electric and need to know what the best packs would be for racing? I am currently running A123 4s2p and this is only good for 12.5min I really need to get 15min at the least. the truck has the mechanical brakes, Quark 125b esc and a ammo 36-50-2300 or a 36-56-3600 motor. The problem is I have to stay at 14.8v or less for RC Pro.

I could run right with the guy that I have been battling with in the state series last weekend on my first try with the electric but I had to go back to nitro for the race this week because of the battery issues.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This one should get you over the 15 minute mark easily, and probably doesnt weigh any more than 8 a 123 cells like you are using now. If you are happy with the performance on 4s a123, you will probably want to go down a tooth or 2 on the pinion to get similar top speeds with the extra couple volts that 4s lipo would have vs 4s a123.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...

what conversion are you running? From what I have recently been told, with the Tekno you have to watch how much weight is hanging off the rear.

For my 3905 Emaxx at least, the TrueRC 15C 8000mah lipos work great. I run these with the 1512 2050Kv 2.5D/F motor on 4S.

You could also try a 3S 8000mah setup like tekno does with the 2600Kv or faster motors.

Wouldn't lipos be lighter than A123s and then be a better racing battery? I like TrakPowers.

I'm racing w/ the maxamps 2s2p 8k packs in a 4s config (series) I run for 45minutes on the track approx. They are more than enough for my Neu 1515 1.5d
