Lehner 2280, Fried.. How good is Lehner's Warranty.? - 05.02.2007, 08:10 PM

Ran my 2280 in my GST this year, for about 5 minutes.. then the motor seized up. Mike, how good is Lehner's Warranty? The motor smells toasted, too bad I can't eat it :).:031: I was running the 5 Turn 2280, using 8S 3700 Mah Lipos.. on MGM 24.160

Man!!!

A humongus motor like the 2280 is destroyed?

Are you sure it's not the MGM?

Hey guys, seriously I have no idea what happened.. I was running it on my GST 7.7. I decided to open the motor up, and guess what I saw, I saw the winding from the center of the motor can, all black and it fell out. the the center part of the rotor was all black, and it smelled like a schulze. Damn, that magnet was strong on that rotor.

I'm sure it' snot the mgm, I later tried it on a feigao 12xl motor with 8s, and it worked fine. you think maybe from sittin' around too long, this happened?.. because that motor had so very little use on it. I just hope Lehner can warranty this or replace some parts, but the windings are F*cked, could this be a faulty motor? Thing is, it worked fine before, on My E-Maxx. Now it's on a gas conversion, which should'nt stress the motor or esc as at all. There's only forward, no brakes, and no reverse. I use mechanical server brakes.. I'm really upset man, that motor costs a fortune. I wasn't expecting to spend much money this year either. :(

I have a whole bunch of feigao's to stick on this thing, but I spent way too much time modifying it to fit a 22 series motor to go any smaller.. Anyone ever had any experience dealing with lehners.. I wonder if they'll even atleast repair it, I love my 2280, I'm not ready to bury it yet.

Hey aqwut how has the GST been holding up. My buddy got one and converted to a Neu setup. Truck has broken a few times....just seeing if you have had good luck with it. He is trying to get the truck up to some pretty high speeds, but the truck is very unstable above 50-55mph even with smaller tire/wheel combo.

My GST is holding up well.. my 3rd GST is coming in tomorrow.... :)
if he wants to go faster, tell him to lower the truck and to use a "VERY GOOD" steering servo.... mine's dual servo, but back then they didn't have the HS-5955TG... mine's running pretty awesome on the KB45... just gotta send back the 2280 for warranty, and wait for Mike to get me 2 1527s....

What has broken on the truck.. the parts on there are huge... the only thing I could see breaking are the shocktowers...

Yeah 4 shock towers so far and 2 front lower control arms. Why didn't you order from Steve at Neu directly? I am about to buy 2 more XTM MMT's...lol. They are awesome trucks as well and have so much room for batteries and everything else.

Cool deal.....you will love the 1527's. The twin 1527's though will be a bit of an overkill...lol. A single 1527 will push that truck to over 100mph if you can get it to stay on the ground.

It took them 11 months to answer an email!?!?!?! Good luck with ever seeing that motor again. Id be afaid I was sending it into te black hole with response time like that. Should only be a few short years for them to actually do some work if it takes almost a year to answer an email.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...
