Help me understand the specs on a neumotor.

Neu 1515 1.5d/F Sensorless Brushless Motor

What does "1515" mean?

I know that "d" means the configuration of the winds but what effect does it have on the motor's performance? and what does a 1.5d armature or can look like?

What does "F" mean!? Some have "S"

Say I'm going to run 22 volts, do I want a 2700Kv motor so the RPM reaches 59,400? which is under the maximum of 60,000?

This is a shot in the dark for me, because I don't understand the rest of the specs.

Also, does a 32p pinion work with the spur on the 8ight/Muggy?
I really want to go with a sensored motor, because of the cogging problems with my Mamba Max ESC, makes me like brushed a lot better.

15 - Relates to the rotor diameter. (in MM?)
09/12/15 - Relates to the rotor or motor length. Larger numbers means a longer motor.
1.5/1/2.5 - The number of turns
d/y - The coil configuration: d=delta/triangle. y=wye/star
f/s - f=finned can. s=smooth can (which can sometimes just be nothing)

You will have to run a mod 1 pinion

I am running 37 000rpm in my 8ight. If you are looking at running 22v I would look around the 1500kv motors

And D coil config means 1.73 times higher kv/1.73 times less torque than a motor with the same amount of Y config turns. Since you can really only have turns in multiples of 0.5 (1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, etc) it offers an easy way to get more kv options with by just changing coil configs.

I think a D coil means 1.73 times higher Kv/1.73 times less torque. A 1515/1D has 4100Kv and a 1515/1Y has 2200Kv.

I have heard that the Y has more torque less top end and the D has more top end less torque, but if you had 2 of the same vehicles with the motors of the same KV ratings one being a Y and the other a D I dont think you would be able to tell a difference in thier performance

I'm going to convert a Muggy.
I plan to race, my local track is an indoor hard packed clay, my brushless AE B4 had an average speed of 10mph in my very best race. I don't want top end, it needs to hit 25 or 30 mph in about 4 feet of runway, plus braking is very important to me so I'm going to incorporate mechanical brakes, because I need front/rear bias adjustment.

So I'm considering a 1521 1y motor. (1577Kv)

any suggestions?

The 1521/1Y with 6S lipos won't disappoint you.

lol, yeah, I goofed the Y/D up. I meant like you said...

You won't need anything bigger than a 1515 on a small track. If your track is really small I'd even consider a 1512, but I'd try to see what people that have use 1512's in truggies think first.
I'd pick something around 1500-1700kv for 6s. You might not even need that much if you can't use much more than 30mph.
