Castle creations you get an A+ - 06.24.2008, 09:54 AM

This post probably isn't necessary but i wanted to say thank you castle creations for being such a stand up company!

ya, I know im no literary prodigy but i wanted to compose a few thoughts pertaining to the seemingly last American based company in this in industry. I feel like every time i turn around im watching Mr Pdelcast ( the president of castle) personally answer questions pertaining to his product and sometimes more. Not shy about offering a glimpse into his circuit design, debating why his methods are better than his competitors, or offering a support with a problem, castle always goes above and beyond the call of duty.
Since their first monster truck controller, that wasn't build for monster trucks, to their 90 volt RC model ESC, castle creations continues to push the envelope and let me add usually at an affordable price. Sure have been problems including the know issue with the last development of there MMM but this incident only strengthens my point. How many other companies would have stood by their product enough ask for it to be returned, then send a real post card to confirm they had received the merchandise, and promise to fix the mistake when they knew what they problem was? And honestly IMO if we as a community hadn't rushed the controller in the first place that problem may have been avoided all together

I dont want to turn this into some sort of long-winded rant but I, and i'm sure several others, would like to thank you castle for doing what you do best. keep your good business plan thriving...and well make you rich

thank you
nick kinzie - Cincinnati Ohio

Thunderbird -54
sprite-25
mamba max 6900
MMM x2

*Please feel free to add additional positive experiences you have had with castle

I did not have this experience. I was never contacted as to whether mine was repairable or I would be waiting for a new production run. I had to call after several weeks and Christy had to go look for mine to confirm it was not repairable and that I would be waiting.

On the upside to this, when I called I was treated very well and assured that I was indeed on the list to have mine replaced. With all they have going on it is to be expected that a few small things like contacting everyone slips through the cracks. I am not upset at all. I called and got my answer in a fast and professional manner and stand by CC 100%.

I own a few of their products as well and the only one to ever give me issues is the MMM do to a known issue.

Mamba 25 w/ 6800
MM with 5700 x2
MM esc only
MMM - the only one that has failed under normal use.

and 1 Modded MM that fried when 5s was applied ;)

I do have to agree about Patrick being on here responding to the various posts/threads.

However, the comment about us "rushing the product" is not totally correct IMO. First, the MMM issue probably would have made it to us no matter how long they waited - you can only get so much testing done and in so many different setups. Second, the webpage did say "coming soon" for a very long time. Probably would have been better to estimate conservatively.

That aside, I too think Castle is doing a great job in supporting their products and taking care of their customers.

Agreed...I stand by Castle 100% simply because they're one of the very few companies left in the RC industry who are actually still interested in their customers' needs. They continue to strive to bring us groundbreaking tech at prices any hobbyist can afford but just as importantly, they'll back it up...and will even spend time *after hours* on forums like RC-M to answer our questions and concerns (thanks go to Joe Ford and Patrick for that!). Sure, they haven't been able to handle every situation perfectly, but what company can? Especially at a crunch time like this.

This isn't sucking-up to them, it's just well-deserved praise.

x2 MMs and 5700 motors (all been rock-solid since I bought them)
x1 MMM (unused as yet)

I concur 100%.

For me, accessibility is paramount and Castle does not fall short on that department one bit. While I wait for my MMM, I enjoy the following Castle products:

4x MM + 1x MM at Castle for repairs
1x HV-110
2x Sidewinder
1x Mamba 25
3x CC BEC

Quickest 1/10 Top Fuel Dragster

I have to disagree with no mods...I don't think we as a community are to blame for the problems and I certainly don't think anything got rushed.

Everything I've seen from Patrick and CC indicate that they are a stand up company. (hence I organized the Pizza round and a lot of ppl here chipped in).

CC wouldn't have released the MMM if the didn't think it was ready for prime time. This has cost them both financially, reputationally and emotionally - I'm confident that they will rise again.

PS My MM just armed and ran perfectly on 5s

I do not yet own a MMM, but i have put a few MM's through the ringer. 5s with a 7xl, 5s with a 9xl and running so hot they could have shut down, but they didn't. I have not used the repair/replacement service yet, but know they won't disappoint, I to give an A+ for making reliable esc's and making one that can be abused without blowing every 5 minutes. I know they will eventually fix the problem with the MMM, Though i'd rather they made it opto and included the castle bec for a few dollars more

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise
