My esc have open solder stations for the battery like tekin esc's. I want to solder my battery direct to my esc. Can I charge my lipo with crocodile plugs of my charger after soldering or should I desolder it for every charge?

I dont mean then in a rude way but why would you want to do that?

edit.. also.. you would only be aloud to use 1 batter pack.. nless you soldered and desoldered every time

I want to do that only for a race. One battery will be enough for me if I don't have to desolder it for charging.

Use deans plugs, no more resistance than the same length of 12 gauge wire... Plus it is not a good idea to not be able to quickly disconnect your lipo if there is a problem...

While you could technically do that, there are disadvantages. The biggest being that there is no way to shut off the ESC. Even when not doing anything, they still draw some small current and will completely kill your battery if left on for a few days (or less). I suppose you could apply an offset charge to cancel out the effect of discharge, but that seems like way more work than any benefit. I too would suggest using a decent connector like Deans, Traxxas, or whatever.

Will the esc still draw current while it's switch is off? I'll make this modification for only one race day. I can solder the battery on the race morning and desolder it after the end of the day. There are three seperate runs. I only want to know If the esc would harmed when I charge the battery between these runs without desolder? It could be not beneficial but I want to try that if my esc won't harmed :)

I don't think it can harm anything if just for one day, but I still don't see the benefit. Just my $0.02...

It will draw power and drain the batteries even if the switch is off, The only reason i can see u doing this is because you are worried the connecters will come apart during the race leaving u dead on the track, i suggest deans plugs and if the problem is them separating, use a small zip tie and cinch the plugs so they stay together, u can run the tie right between the positive and neg wires and they will not separate unless u cut the tie

but as link said if there is a esc fire or something goes wrong u need to be able to disconnect the battery fast to prevent further damage, especially to the lipo
