Yet another fried MMM (v2)... - 08.23.2008, 11:19 AM

Ah well that was a short trip.

It took me hours to install the MMM yesterday since I wanted to have everything clean and thorough. At about 11pm I was done and the first quick tests went all well. Calibrating worked fine and the setting as well. I left most settings at standard and set the LiPo Cutoff to 12.6V (for 4s). Today I decided to take it out for a ride and everything went well... I temped it every few minutes to make sure it didn't overheat anywhere and the temps of the ESC never rose above 55, the fan did not run even once.

Then I started off again after a temp check and it suddenly stopped without a warning... well it gave a warning as in white smoke and flames. The temps melted the soldering of the connectors and they all came lose. I just hope my LiPos didn't die in the process... they got pretty hot when the MMM grilled my E-Revo :(

All I can say I'm kinda frustrated right now... but I think you can imagine.

I used some custom made 5000mAh 30c packs made here in germany. Not sure which cells they're using but they're pretty good... never ever rose more than 3-5° above ambient.
