mod1 spur gears for e-revo - 10.08.2008, 02:18 AM

after using the rc speed calculations as well as the gear diameter calculator i have decided on several options for gearing:

20t pinion x 46t spur = 45mph
22t pinion x 54t spur = 42mph

im sure i would be happy with the performance of either, but i cant find any mod1 spurs bigger than 40t. someone mentions associated MGT spurs but i cannot find any. it seems like it will be much easier to just get a 5mm 32 pitch pinion and use the abundant spurs for 32 pitch, but im ot sure if it will take a Nue 1515/1y on 4s.

please, if anyone has any gearing suggestions as well as where to get them it would be great

Sir, The 32p gears are fine, I use them on my emaxx (same tranny everything as erevo) with up to a neu 1y on 6s with no issue (usually 5s on a 2D) Jato spurs (32p) also work on the erevo with minimal grinding

Mike sells mod .08, same thing as 32p pretty much, and the Spur of the erevo is actually mod .08

actually the only thing you need to grind for the jato spurs (smaller diameter (higher top speed) is the motor spur gear cover of the erevo

I personally would rather go mod1. What you have to do is to with a 36-40t spur and a smaller 12-16t pinion, and find whatever speed you like, then go with that.

I raced my erevo all summer with a Neu 1515, there is absolutely no reason to switch to mod 1, complete waste of money you don't gain anything. Stick with e-revo, emaxx and jato spurs and Mike's .8 pinions (.8=32p). It is a perfect setup.

just bought revo spurs (54,56,58) and pinions (22, 24) hopefully this should give me some gearing options to play around with....and if the 32 pitch doesnt hold up then ill go to mod1, but it seems like ti should do fine going by stum's post. Also ordered a series adapter for the batteries and 4mm plugs + shrink wrap for the motor. Hopefully that will be everyting i need:

hers what i have/coming

castle MMM
Tekno Nue 1515/1y
PQ 30c 7.4v lipo (x2)
series adapter
22 and 24 tooth 32 pitch 5mm pinions
54-58 tooth 32 pitch spurs
4mm gold plugs for motor.

anything else?
