Ok, here is what I am looking for.....

What is in this picture below

Basically the stock design E-Maxx chassis, but made of aluminum, like in the picture below. I would like any info on this chassis, where to get one, and who makes it. I really like the stock version of the chassis because of the length, but I am looking for something a little more rigid. That is why I want one of these chassis. I have been searching for quite a while with no luck, so I wondered if anyone here could help.

I think hardcore racing made them, possibly even titanium. However as I understand it hardcore is out of business. The chassis was also kind of expensive. Here is a nice one to consider though, many people here have it and like it a lot. There is also a newer version for the 3905 e-maxx as well.

Have you looked at the FLM chassis? Not exactly what you are looking for but, they are pretty sweet...here is a pic. of mine in my Maxx. w/the hybrid bulks...

For 650 you can buy a lot more useful parts. For the money, the fastlane version can't be beat, and there is no way the UE version is 560 dollars better.

I agree w/you...no way that is worth the $ they are asking for that chassis.

they were less than $300 new from Unlimited Engineering when they were still in busuness!...since they quit producing parts the prices have gone through the roof!...like the SLIPPERENTIAL...i have seen them sell for $300+

Thanks for the help so far guys.

I really wanted to avoid getting an extended chassis, because I don't have the 3.3 conversion on my Maxx and didn't really want to have to buy all new CVD's, knuckles, and whatever else, and it just wouldn't look right with an extended chassis and not being widened at all. Not to mention that if I bought anything that cost as much as that SuperMaxx chassis, my girl would probably confiscate my debit card from me, permanently.....

However, I did find this, anyone know if these are any good? -

SO MANY DIFFERENT COLORS TO CHOOSE!!!

I am really thinking about getting one of those East End Machining ones if you guys think its decent, I just want something stronger than stock but same length.

But what color should I get? Maybe black anodized and use a dremel along the edges, would look pretty trick IMO.

Never heard of them however they look nice and are made with quality aluminum. The price seems fair as well considering the amount of aluminum used, the machining it took, then add in the anodizing.

Cheaper to get the FLM chassis - and likely a better product down the road. ALl you need to change would be the center sliders, and for that all you'd need are traxxas 3.3 center's (not CVD's).

Would it possible to find a machine shop that can copy the stock chassis, but in aluminum? Basically, how a key duplicator works sorta...

Good point. There are probably a few machine shops in Tucson, Arizona area that would probably have the equipment to do that, however it would probably cost almost as much, and it would need to be slightly thicker as well, since the stock plastic chassis is not all that thick. And there would be alot of aluminum waste involved. It would be worth a shot at getting a quote, I will see what I can come up with for that, but I doubt it would be worth it.

I think I will do a little searching around and find someone who has one of those East End Machining chassis' and find out how they like it.

No matter what, there's gonna be a lot of waste; after all, you gotta start with a block of aluminum. And I don't know if it has to be any thicker since al is stronger than plastic to begin with, not to mention the turned-up edges.

But yeah, it probably will be quite expensive. I guess the question then becomes: how bad do you really want it?

Very true. And I really just want an aluminum chassis similar to stock, but stronger, so I am probably just going to go with the East End Machining one.

get a silver one...BLACK will look great when it's new,but when it gets scratched up like hell it will look BEAT!!!
