Any good mods for 8ight-t steering? - 11.11.2008, 05:34 PM

I'm currently using the short anckerman on my 8ight-t and man my revo turns on a dime after thet mods I did... why can't I get the 8ight to corner as such? The inside tire is great, but that outside tire just doesn't seem to have the same cut in, I have adjusted everything with the servo's and It's has enough travel that it will slap the arms pretty hard, almost too much travel. I'm using a 400oz torque servo (jr) so I guarantee it's nothign to do w/ the servo. This truck just doesn't wont do it w/ this stock setup... I can drive it.. but man I just wish it could handle a turn like my erevo does.

Thoughts?

Try using zero offset wheels for better turning ability.

I also run the longer akerman in the truggy and the smaller one in the buggy. I just like the steering response I seem to have this way.

Double check to see if your servo saver is tight enough, a loose one will make your truck very lazy in the turns.

Kingheadz makes long travel ackermans now, It cuts pretty deep even with my 1/2" offset rims, too much for the road but for racing your dirt tracks id wager thats the ticket. id doesnt get all loose travel like the stocker after a week lol

thats weird. i had the long ackerman in my buggy and the short on my 8t and my 8t turns on a dime. i left everything stock as far as suspension and steering on my 8t and i am not kidding- it will do power slides when i turn without touching the brake. it can definitley turn within a 3ft circle on-power or off power. the short ackerman produces tighter turn in than the long i know. check some of the other settings maybe.
