hello.

i have bought a hobbywing 80a esc that works from 2 to 4s lipo and i want to use it on a e-revo..
what motor should i buy for this esc and what lipos do you advise me to use too??


Specification

1.1 Output: Continuous current 80A, burst current 270A.
1.2 Input: 6-12 cells NiMH/NiCd or 2-4 cells LiPo.
1.3 BEC Output: 5.75V/3A (Switch mode built-in BEC).
1.4 Resistance: 0.0018 Ohm.
1.5 Motor Supported: Sensorless and sensored brushless motors
1.6 Suitable Brushless Motor: 8T and > 8T
1.7 Suitable Car: 1/8 on-road or off-road cars / trucks for sportful race and RTR application.
1.8 Size: 68mm(L) * 55mm(W) * 45mm(H).
1.9 Weight: 150g(Without wires)


2 Features

1.1 Compatible with all sensorless brushless motors and most of sensored brushless motors such as Novak, LRP and Feigao, etc.
1.2 Excellent start-up, acceleration and linearity features.
1.3 3 running modes (Forward only with brake, Forward/Reverse with brake, Forward/Reverse immediately)
1.4 4 steps of maximum reverse force adjustment.
1.5 Proportional ABS brake function with 4 steps of maximum brake force adjustment, 8 steps of drag-brake force adjustment and 4 steps of initial brake force adjustment.
1.6 9 start modes (Also called “Punch”) from “very soft (Level 1)” to “very aggressive (Level 9)”.
1.7 Multiple protection features: Low voltage cut-off protection / Over-heat protection / Throttle signal loss protection / Motor blocked protection.
1.8 8 steps of timing adjustment by software.
1.9 Built-in switch mode BEC has a powerful output to supply all the electronic equipments.
1.10 Easily program with only one button and compatible with pocket-sized Program Card.
1.11 Firmware can be updated through an USB adapter (Optional equipment).
1.12 Splash proof and dustproof

sell it, get an mm with external bec and a feigao 8xl on zippy 2s 5000's in parallel for 4s. the best bang for your buck out there

Paralyzed, could you post a link to the Zippy 2S 5000 packs? I cannot find them on Hobbycity, am I looking in the wrong place?

I did find the Rhino 2S 4900 packs for $40 each and I am tempted, can anyone give me a good reason not to........ I heard they are the same as Zippy.

Do you mean two of the 4s 5000's in parallel? Two 2s in parallel is still 2s. I did not see any 2s 5000mah ones either.

I meant a pack like that. buy the rhinos you'll be happy

I meant 2 2s in series, my bad

Try the hobbywing with an 8xl on 4s, gear for about 40 and watch temps...

what other motors with 3.17 mm shaft are good for this combination and to work on this 80a esc??

and what stores sell it?

lately i've seen the feigao xl motors on ebay with 3.17mm shafts, if it were me i would get a 5mm shaft, and use nitro revo spur gears, they are mod1 then you can use 5mm mod1 pinions

7XL will pull over 100amps - I suspect that ESC will be toast

so what motor to do i choose without pull more then 80a?
feigao are out of stock here in rc monster store, and from medusa any pull less then 80a?
