What is best servo for CRT .5? - 01.02.2009, 03:17 PM

Well I bought a crt .5, when I purchased it I was under the impression that the extended chassis that is installed would accept a 1/10 servo...no such luck. Now I need a servo that fits. Something that is best bang for the buck and good performance.

I know I could drill the chassis but I would like to run this thing to see if I even like the way it feels before drilling on the new chassis.

BTW I am running a Team Blue Groove chassis and conversion.

Thanks guys.

Paul

The extended OFNA and mikes chassis does enable a full size servo...

Otherwise in the mini's this is about it...

Or I have one of these for sale...

Well I would say support RC-M and ditch the blue groove conversion! The blue groove opens itself up to gear mesh problems as it mounts the motor the same as a nitro motor. RC-M's mount holds the motor solid to the center diff eliminating the chance of chassis flex changing the gear mesh. You can order an OFNA extended chassis conversion and run a full 1/10 servo or get the RC-M chassis that is even longer and allows full size servos. Otherwise your very limited in servo selection. However it doesn't take much to turn the little wheels. I'm only running a Spektrum z590 that I paid $30 for and I have no complaints with it's speed or power!
